Steamer Philadelphia Passing Point Aux Barques Life Saving Station

This spectacular 1868 vessel was one of the first metal hulls on the Great Lakes. Sails were used whenever possible to save fuel. The Philadelphia was lost in a tragic collision with the Albany and now lies in 125 feet of Lake Huron waters. The early tug Sport can be seen towing a log raft in the foreground.
