Propeller Albany off the Port Austin Reef Light, 1893
The Kirby designed Albany of 1885 is a beautiful example of a railroad package freighter. Built for speed, they were owned by the railroads and ran according to railroad timetables. The Albany collided with the Philadelphia in November, 1893. Most of the crews from both ships were lost.
