Steamer Detroit off Point Aux Barques, Michigan
This early side-wheeler was built in Newport (Marine City) in 1846. She sank off Michigan’s thumb after a collision in 1854. The ship is almost completely intact in 200 feet of water. All the colors in the illustration are based on paint samples found on the sunken ship.
